🏆 Ed Foster-Johnson Claims Super Six Ploughing Title 2025 🏆
After a season of skill, precision, and perseverance across the county, Ed Foster-Johnson has been crowned the inaugural Super Six World Style Reversible Ploughing Champion for 2025.
The hotly contested series – kindly sponsored by Euro Demolition & Dismantling – saw competitors accumulate points from any of the six Staffordshire District Ploughing Matches, with the overall standings determined by consistent performance throughout the season. From the rolling fields of Burton and Uttoxeter to the well-worked plots of Lichfield, Stafford, Stone, and Eccleshall, each round tested competitors’ accuracy, steadiness, and experience. Ed’s steady hand and keen eye for detail shone through, earning him the top spot and a well-deserved £125 first prize.
Ed’s victory was officially recognised at the Staffordshire & Birmingham Agricultural Society’s County Dinner on 5 November 2025, held in the Ingestre Suite at the County Showground, where he was presented with his Trophy, kindly sponsored by Kverneland, in front of members, fellow competitors, and guests. Reflecting on his success, Ed said it was the culmination of years of practice and passion for keeping traditional ploughing alive: “It’s a real honour to take this title – the standard across all six Districts is incredibly high. Every field is different, and it’s great to see so many dedicated ploughmen out there showcasing real craftsmanship.” Runner-up, James Foster-Johnson and third-placed, Carl Shaw received £75 and £50 respectively, rounding off another excellent season for Staffordshire’s ploughing circuit
Congratulations to Ed and all those who took part in this year’s Super Six – a true celebration of skill, teamwork, and pride in the land.
